The Bitterroot Performing Arts Council (BPAC) was formed and received its nonprofit status in 2009 to continue the performing arts series started in 2004 by the Hamilton School District, owner of the BPAC’s primary venue. With tremendous support from individuals and businesses within the community, the series was saved from extinction. For 21 seasons it has grown and thrived, with more than 140 performances presenting a broad spectrum of performing arts to residents of the Bitterroot Valley and beyond, providing access and exposure to artists of significance from around the world. In addition to the public performances, many visiting artists have connected with community members through a wide variety of educational outreach activities designed for students of all ages.
An expansion of the depth and breadth of performing arts programming to include special events, the development of additional mini-series, summer programming and a bolstered educational outreach program for k-12 students.
